BladeShield is a single-player cci-fi wave-based action game for the HTC Vive, in which you need to survive as long as you can while fighting against a robot army that has one intent, to eliminate the human race from the entire galaxy.

BladeShield narrative reveals an apocalyptic event where an onboard A.I. named E.L.L.E.N. (Engaging Linguistic Learning Electronic Network) has deviated from its original programmed instruction and has gone rogue. Now this powerful A.I. that board on the Titan-X transport vessel has instructed the ship's reproduction facility to create an army of lethal robots bowed on killing all human beings in the galaxy.

You play as the only security officer on the ship and been given a task to stop the vicious robots, stop E.L.L.E.N from achieving its evil scheme and make sure all the crew onboard get to safety. You need to survive waves of robot attacks while using your set of skills and your advanced melee weaponry to slice your enemies into pieces and hold off the onslaught happening on Titan-X.

BladeShield features a wide variety of weapons, including Bladshiels, dual purpose light sword (yes, you can feel like a powerful Jedi, slicing robots into pieces!), a proton shield and EMP blast ability. The EMP blast ability is really powerful. You actually charge up your light sword by deflecting incoming laser bolts and then when this super ability is available, you can use it to create a tremendous blast on the floor that kills all enemies within a large radius.

One of the best features in BladShield is that it allows you to mix and match different weapons and shields to match your favorite playstyle and tactics. You can even use your shield as a weapon by deflecting incoming projectiles. There is a wide variety of robots, including mega turrets, deadthbots, sawbots, leapers, and shooterbots—all trying to take out.

The game takes place inside the ship in a relatively small room.. Enemies will try to attack you from various directions and overcome your defensive capabilities. It's up to you to skillfully use the available tools and abilities to make sure you can survive as long as possible versus an AI enemy which certainly shouldn't be taken it lightly. For each kill, you obtain a score and you can even combo attacks to received an even higher score. Do you best to get the highest possible score and to tank up on the Steam leaderboards.

BladeShield features vivid visuals with impressive special effects and great use of lighting effects to give you the feel of an intense futuristic sci-fi combat experience. I really love this type of melee combat games in VR, they are perfectly suited for playing with tracked motion controller. The gameplay also evovles not just around blocking imconing projectiles like Lightblade, but also on melee attacks and projection of incoming attacks. This should make the whole experience much more intensive, immersive, challanging and fun in my opinion.

BaldeShield will be released on November 28, 2106, on Steam for the HTC Vive VR headset. A cool and promising title that you definitely should check out.
